Can you swim in Hurghada, Egypt, in December?

Hello everyone, has anyone swum in Hurghada in December? I would like to know what the conditions are really like. I read that the swimming season in Egypt lasts all year round, but that there are sea winds in winter which spoil the experience. Has anyone been to Hurghada in December? What were your impressions? Was the water warm or cool for long swims?

When I was there, the temperature reached 22–24 °C, which I found fine, but some people might not find it warm enough for swimming.
